About Me

I started Not the Preprint out of my dissatisfaction of doing animal behavior research. I went to graduate school from 2020-2025 during one of the most politically turbulent times in modern American history. My PhD focued on using computational models to explore associative learning mechanisms in animals, but I couldn't shake the feeling that the public utility of my work was lacking.

Animal behavior will always be interesting to me, I still want to do research within my field. I still think the work of doing secondary analysis in the field is important. However, what I want most is for my field to continue to exist. I want science to still exist.
